the following:
Flat wash brushes
1" and 1½"- Loew-Cornell
7750 or Robert
Simmons Sky Flow
Round- Sable or
sable/synthetic mix
#10, 12, 14 or
larger - such as
Stratford and York
Rydal Gold 001 or
Loew-Cornell 7000
Paper
Good quality paper-
**buy as single
sheets not in coil
or glued pads. For a
five day workshop
you will need 3 full
sheets of Strathmore
Gemini or Arches
140lb cold press or
Saunders Waterford
200lb watercolour
paper. If you can
find Strathmore
Aquarius II, bring
along 1 sheet. Do
not stretch and tape
paper before class.
For most class
exercises I
recommend working on
1/4 sheets and
smaller.
Miscellaneous
-note book and
pencil
-small sketch
book
Sharpie fine
point marker or
Faber-Castell
markers
-Plexi-glass
to use instead of a
board to paint on,
slightly larger than
your piece of
watercolour paper
eg. for 11x15 paper
(½ sheet), plexi
should be about
14x18. You can
purchase at a glass
shop, or building
supply store. Plexi
doesn’t need to be
perfect, ask for a
second. You should
not pay more than
$12-15.00 max.
-Water bucket
-Paper towels
-Tissue
-Palette of your
choice - I like a
small Heritage
palette with lid
that seals
-Sketches or
photos of florals
and landscape
-Plywood board or
a pad of newsprint
(not newspaper with
type) for drying
paintings
-Hand-held hair
drier
-scissors, tape
-Tracing, layout
or onion skin paper
(we may use 2 small
sheets)
Optional: Digital
Camera,
Water-soluble marker
fine point (found at
fabric or quilting
stores)
MOST IMPORTANT:

ADVENTURE!!!
